Mujer Cóndor
Mujer Cóndor illustration is ink on paper. The sculptures are made of paper mache, modelling clay, and dry plants. This piece was part of an Andean collective art exhibition curated by Rima y Maiz in Guttenberg Arts, New Jersey.
Mujer Cóndor is an archetype of feminine energy that invokes power, strength, justice, and sovereignty. Along with her ally, the serpent, she flies over the Andes mountains setting free all peoples/el pueblo from borders, colonization, capitalism, and patriarchy to pursue a life of dignity and sovereignty aligned with ancestral knowledge.
The piece was inspired by the popular uprisings against the neoliberal governments of Abya Yala.
